Chapters 1 - 5 Connector.

In the first five chapters that I have read, I had to make connections with life here in Kalispell and I could even picture what streets here the kids would be living on and Boo Radley. As my role the Connector I had a series questions to answer and the first one was what connections you can make between the settings and your own home, school, or city. The connection I had made was that here in Kalispell we do have streets like the ones that Scout lives on in the Southern part of the town that does have a house or two that is sketchy where you know somebody lives there but don't ever see the people. For the second question I had which was making connections between the conflicts in the text and those in my life, I made the connection that how Scout didn't want to go to school because she dreaded her teacher and that reminds me of how some days I wouldn't want to go to school because of some mean teachers I've had before. How the characters in the text are similar to people I met in my life is the third question I had and they are similar to some of my friends from when I was younger and how some of my friends and I would play truth or dare and in the book they had been daring each other to see who would go in Boo Radleys' yard.
This book is quite unique compared to other books I've read although it does remind me of some other books I've read because of the characters, which are mainly children and how they play games and their outlook on school. A connection that I had with the book that I don't think anyone else has made before is that I do live on a street with a creepy house next to mine where you know a person lives there but you never for sure know if the person is at their house at that moment or not. A similarity that my literature circle had was when the children found the two Indian head pennies face up which meant for good luck and we all thought of how we would find a penny face up and keep it for good luck. In the book Scout has not yet found the importance of school so she sees no real reason for going to school except for teachers to be mean to her. Although I do think that she will get used to the mean teachers that she will have more of probably in the future and to just learn what she can while in school.
